Chen Wang

Project Scientist

Chen Wang is currently an assistant professor at University of Buffalo. He received the B.Eng. degree from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) in 2014 and Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore in 2019. He was previously a project scientist at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon.

His research goal is to achieve human-level spatial awareness on robotic systems. He is interested in all aspects of algorithm development, including creating efficient algorithms, proving their theoretical properties, distributing them to open-source communities, and validating them on real-world robots.

His research interests include robotic perception, vision, and learning. He is also engaged in delivering simple and efficient source code.

He is currently serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L).
