Yi Zhao is a Research Assistant at AirLab and a Master of Science in Computer Vision (MSCV) student at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Sebastian Scherer and Wenshan Wang. His research focuses on a next-generation general-purpose robot foundation model spanning all major robot platforms. He is responsible for its decision-making components, including an action-conditioned world model that predicts the outcomes of a robot’s actions, evaluation protocols to validate the world model, and its scaling and transfer across embodiments. Previously, he worked on inertial state estimation, developing unified multi-platform IMU foundation models.
